Interface to ICD and other hardware tools |
Microchip's In-Circuit Debugger, MPLAB-ICD, is a powerful, low-cost, run-time development tool. This tool is based on the flash PIC16F877 and can be used to develop for this and other PICmicro¿ microcontrollers from the 16Cxx family. MPLAB-ICD utilizes the In-Circuit Debugging capability built into the PIC16F87X. This feature along with Microchip's In-Circuit Serial Programming¬ (ICSP¬) protocol, offers cost-effective in-circuit flash programming and debugging from the graphical user interface of the MPLAB Integrated Development Environment. This enables a designer to develop and debug source code by watching variables, single-stepping and setting break points. Running at full speed enables testing hardware in real-time. The MPLAB-ICD is also a programmer for the flash PIC16F87X family. The MPLAB-ICD complete hardware development system along with the free MPLAB software, provide a powerful run-time development tool at a price that lets you put one on every design engineer's desk. A low cost version is available (RF27E) that allows the ICD module to be connected directly to the target board. |
